Best wishes for 2020 to you all! The coming year will again be a inspiring musical year with some very interesting projects! To mention a few; I will be performing Bach's st. Matthew Passion a few times with Ars Musica (one of them being broadcast on Dutch Television) and I'm playing a modern remake of Mozarts Le Nozze de Figaro with Holland Opera in August 2020. More information about this opera will soon be found here.
Also worth mentioning is the opera Arianne, performed by Le Nuove Musiche. We will play this beautiful opera by Monteverdi on historical instruments and in a historically informed way. Come at see it on May 21st 2020 in Muziekgebouw Amsterdam!
Together with bass singer Rick Zwart I started a recording plan to record the viola da gamba aria Komm Susses Kreuz from Bach's st. Matthew Passion. Together with the gifted musicians Linda Paulino (violone) and Antonio Pedrosa (organ) we recorded the aria plus the recitativo that comes before in the Sweelinckzaal of the Conservatory of Amsterdam. The recoding is done by Andrea Friggi. Check out the result below!
The Amstel Consort made some "band pictures". We chose a beautiful autumn day at the Hortus Utrecht to shoot the photos and we are quite fond of the result! Take a look at them at the Amstel Consort page. The photos are made by the talented Suzanne Monnier.
